The band's annual "Christmas, Chanukah, Winter, New Year, Whatever You Want To Call It Concert" for 2007 will be on Saturday, December 8, 7:00PM, at the Hollis-Brookline High School Auditorium. The concert is cosponsored by the band and the Hollis Ladies' Reading and Charitable Society. The price of admission is one non-perishable food item, to be donated to local homeless shelters and soup kitchens. Refreshments may also be purchased before the concert and during intermission.
The concert features a wide variety of works for band and chorus, including symphonic pieces and popular holiday classics. Included each year are a sing-along and a rousing rendition of Handel's Messiah. Accompanying the band in many of the pieces is a chorus, whose members are drawn from the surrounding area. If you would like to participate in the chorus this year, rehearsals start October 24 and run from 7:30 to 8:15 on Wednesdays, except for Nov. 21. No auditions - if you're breathing, you're in!
